reading another post on another
forum, a comment was made that "i changed two of the burners on my four burner gas stove in the caravan to give me a better and hotter burn so as to have some real heat and kept it just legal" dose anyone know how this is done? i find the stove in our caravan to be wanting as far as heat is concerned. and even considered putting in one of those round gas rings from the el cheapo shops.

My understnding is that there is an adjusting screw for each of the burners. For
my home gas cooktop these are accessible inside the spindle of each knob. We can take
the knob off and with a very thin long shafted screwdriver can adjust the output of each burner. I do not have any idea if this carries across all gas cooktops.

You're just talking about an air jet. It lets air in to the mix. It's the difference between a yellow flame (poor combustion) and a blue flame (burning correctly). The person you spoke about may have thought he did something extra but in fact all he did was adjust it to make it burn correctly. "Keeping it legal" is a little melodramatic!! lolol

To increase the heat output you would have to replace both the burner and the jet for larger ones. As stated above the adjustment screw is just to correct the gas/air ratio.
