Got the exhaust restrictors removed from the y section last week, results more power above 2000rpm(went over test hill with trailor attached 10% quicker), down side slight loss of torque below 1500rpm, and a bit more noise when you put your foot down, but it is not unpleasent . Well not to an old petrol head anyway lol.
Fuel economy to early to make a decision as I cannot resist putting the boot in, but should be slighty better
Cheers Pete

Mate I am having enough trouble sticking near the speed limit now lol, even with the boat on. I am considering a uni filter( have had good results before) but getting conflicting advice on wether the oil from the filter will interfer with sensors in the inlet track .

Its a user problem Pete

So many people overoil filters , and forget just how dry it felt when it was
first new.

I havent taken that step yet but am aware of it. Would welcome any comment on
fuel inc/dec when you have time to assess. Have only had Jack for a short while
but one outback trip with C/t has me singing its praises. Powerful beast but comes
at a fuel price of course. Averaged 6.7 k to a litre over 13k including Tanami & GRR
so was happy with that, had to keep a light foot to get it though....oldbaz.

Hi Barry,
I only purchased the Jack in late April, but I am very happy with it. Does better fuel economy than wifes 3lt Paj , and it is a lot gruntier.
I dont normally have trouble driving for economy, but I have to use cruise in the Jack to stop speed creeping up. I dont expect any improvement arround town which is all I will be doing for a few weeks, but Brad on this site had his down to high 11s. Tyres make a huge diff to fueleconomy as well.
My Mate use to be the service manager at the local Holden dealership and he did not know about the restrictors, and he got one. Gave him a drive this afternoon and he got his booked in to get his out. We drove both Jacks back to back, mine is a bit more deep throated on full throttle and a lot more torquer. His is the wide track model rides a bit better tham mine, but a bit heavier.
It is marginally more expensive to run than my old 4runner, but it is fun to drive and a lot more relaxing towing my boat
Cheers Pete
