I need to buy a set of towing mirrors for my 2007 ST-L Patrol. Appreciate any suggestions as to the best type to use. I am concerned the strap on type will slam back on the door at speed.

I use the Coppa Rossa ones too. I have had to learn to take up all the slack when I put them on the mirrors, and keep all the adjustments tight, as they get quite a bash when you pass a truck that does not have wind deflectors and with a head wind in particular.
One trick - when you put the mirrors on, have a wet tissue handy to wet the suction cup and door to give a good seal there.
Practice helps

We have Aussie truck mirrors, available from most caravan retail shops, quality
automotive paces like Auto pro, repco & ISP etc. Not cheap, if memory serves me correctly about $100 for the pair. They are fully adjustable, stable, removeable, & do not damage tinted windows or your duco. Best wishes

More like $100 each Barry, but I'm with you, Aussie Truck Mirrors for me to. A great range in the adjustments easy to fit and don't move a millimetre when set up correctly.
Regards Andrew.

Thanks for all the replies. Do the Aussie truck mirrors take long to attach and remove?

Check out eBay for the Aussie Truck Mirrors - I think you will find them at $80 each plus postage.

No they don't take long to put on or remove. It will take you a little longer the first time you put them on, but after you have them set up its all easy from there.
They have a ratchet tensioner which you are able to release allowing the strap enough slack to take them off. You just have to tighten up the ratchet when putting back on & you are in business & the mirrors are usuly still in focus.
One important point, we find you need to have the windows up in order to keep them from vibrating about, so if you dont have air con it might be a problem.
