Hi everyone....a couple of us went and did the
Black point /
lake Jasper run...had the place to ourselves..road conditions very good. Started at the Brockman hwy end and finished at the Vasse hwy.....had good weather and no problems at all.
If you have got the time this weekend, go do it....we recommend it and stop at Baldies' fish and chips at
Nannup to top up for the journey home...regards Phil.

Hi Phil, Nice country. The walk down to the basalt pillars is great. (check pic in profile)
Haven't been there for a while now. I believe that the
camping area around
Black Point has been cleaned up a bit.
In the past, I found that the mainstream campers set up under the peppermint trees, whereas the surfies camped right at the end of the trail on the exposed
cliff face, dumping their cr@p everywhere, literally. The walk
trails were a minefield of excrement.
Sounds like you came in from the Western track - the direct track off Stewart Road (
Black Point Road) is usually inundated this time of year.
Lake Jasper would be pretty good this time of year.
Cheers, Gerry
