Just in the process of doing it Phillip.
I will be making some brackets with upstands to fit the original bolt holes and then weld the brackets to the new seats.
A friend of
mine has already done it to his waggon.
Send me a members mail and I will keep you posted.

Good evening Kiwi,
Please add me into the list, most interested in how you fit it all together.
Cheers

Hi Phillip,
I fitted a Commodore
seat to the LHS of the 80 series by making an adaptor bracket to adapt the
seat to Toyota tracks. I got 2 seats from a then 3 y.o. car for $200 and fitted only one then sold the other for $150. Very good and comfortable
seat.

In Queensland you need to get any
seat changes complianced, cost around $110 for the blue plate. I assume this would be the case Aust wide. Otherwise insurance may be void.
Mike.

I did it with a couple of seats from a 318i BMW and was very happy.
In NSW you need to get engieers cert. for rego purposes but that's no problem if you do it right. Cert cost about $220.00

Phil, I went through what you are currently thinking about. Ask yourself this question, "how long are you going to have the troopie" if you come up with 10 plus years.........I strongly recommend "Recaro Seats" I had my "troopie" fitted with the same with the drivers
seat mount made to slide a further 60 mm further back, because of my long legs.....honestly could not be happier. Excellent
seat, expensive....yes....., however "say" I change vehicles ....down the track....I'll take these seats into the next vehlcle........bearing in mind......"recaro" make the mounting frames to fit almost all vehicles made. Further if seats need
refurbishing have do this also. Seats fitted into existing mounting holes and no insurance issues to worry about......Regards Harro......
