Hi
Just had gas fitted to Rodeo.
Very pleased with the economy and power.
Contact Deiselgas in Malaga.
Mark Collins is the man to talk to.
The installer I used was Mark Hade in Neaves Road.
I could only fit a 35l tank and that went where the spare tyre usually sits.
Cost me $4015 and I got 2k back from Commonwealth Gov and 1k back from State Gov.

Had my fitment done by the same people as Buick above, overall happy with the install, but in the last month it has stopped working????? Before that was happy with the power and economy....well, the litres per km didn't change mych, but 3 of the litres per 100km are 60 odd cents cheaper.

Cheers Andrew

G'day Phillip,

Had diesel/gas fitted to my new hilux over a year ago here in Vic. After a few return trips for adjustment, (system was not using enough LP) I am very pleased with the extra grunt.

With my set-up, the lux uses considerably more LP when under heavy load, eg towing, around 1 litre for every 30 kms travelled; cruising and general running about is about 1 litre for 40 kms.

The improvement in range claimed may be an exaggeration, so don't fit it and expect to go a lot further. Although in fairness, I also think the extra range issue may be due to the fact I am using the extra power to get to places quicker; you can't have it both ways.

If, as Buick claims, it only costs $1k after rebates, you guys are getting a great deal in the west. I fitted mine before any rebates applied and I have no regrets.

Cheers,
Paul

Hey,

I had it fitted to my 3ltr Patrol in January. It has felt like a different car ever since and I hate it when the gas runs out when I have used my main tank and switch to the reserve. The torque low down in the rev range and the extra Kw are very noticable. I have found that I pretty much get an extra 150-200klm range now depending on how heavy my foot is.
I got it done by Diesel gas in Malaga also, they just book you in with one of their subcontracting installers usually.

Im living in Broome at the moment and the gas system stopped working back in March not long after I got here. I spoke to Mark Collins and he had found that there was some report going round about the liquid gas in the rubber pipes causing some breakdown of the rubber and therfore some yellow oily residue stuffs up the diaphram in the convertor. A quick look at the convertor showed just this, oily residue coming out the hose. Not to worry, Mark found a local installer up here...the only auto gas guy actually...and hooked him up with a diaphram kit and I had it fixed at no charge. I have had no problems since.

Apparantly once the reaction has occured in the pipes it pretty much stops after the initial reaction.
mine may have also been more likely to happen because the car was in transit for one week and i never turne doff the gas system and ran it so that all the gas was out of the pipes, then should have turned off the tank just in case.

Cheers
DJ
