I remembered seeing a link to a guy with a patrol (i think) who built his own rear bar with 2 wheel carriers, there was a truck load of detailed photos. I've looked through the archives (perhaps I only had a 'man look') and can't see it. can anyone please help me out?

Wayne has since changed his pics
see this post

When he get home, if he wants to come home in lateish October he may repost the pics for you.

Although there is a few others on here that have built their own so you may have some more luck sooner

Cheers Kev

I was planning to just leave it on round town- mainly for the conveinience of not having to build an 'easy off easy on' set up. perhaps it'll be more convienient to do it properly the first time...

Honestly - how often do you think you will need 2 spares? Why not take the std one on the door, and then a tire not on a rim and fit if needed... throw it on the roof, or strap it to the current spare..

Remember a few threads discussing this in the past, and lots said they had never used 2 spares at all...

I looked at them, but they are bleep in expensive, too heavy too and ugly, but they do beat that crap plastic bar on the GU which takes 1 hit and destroyed...

Talkin to a bloke with an ARB one on a new model patrol few weeks ago at lake eppilock near bendigo that he fitted himself, he was shocked how heavy it was.. and remember you will need new springs with it. not expensive or hard to change, just more $!
