Hi Flight Sergant,
I have a hawk and the rack from Jayoc screws directly into the sides of the roof, duck into the nearsest jayco dealer and take a sticky beak for ideas, I was not paying for what they were asking. The rack i am presently making will be similar 40mm square bar with an angle foot, i am using two screws instead of one for each leg into the side of the van directly onto the flat of the annexe support, The tinnie in my case is only 80kg and i will also have a middle bar to take some weight.
regards

No problem with the weight on the racks. Just be careful after you have got the boat on. The winding mechanism , actually the pullies on the corner/s on some of the older models has been known to pull out of the van floor when you increase the weight being lifted. They are only held in with coach bolts. I would be reluctant to try and lift the roof with a 14' tinny on top. Bear in mind that you have probably at least doubled the weight of the roof. Makes it a bit of a pain having to take the boat off every night I know, but them's the breaks.
