Hi All,
We are looking for some free campsites to stay at on our trip to Eighty mile beach. The 2 we've found in the right areas are Lake Nallan and Mount Robinson. Can anyone offer any insight to what both of these campsites are like, how far from the main road they are and if they are accessable by 2wd. We are a family of 4 taking a camper trailer we have 2 little children with us so we need to make sure we are not too close to any gorge edges etc.

Cheers Tony

Tony

We stayed at Mount Robinson in 2005, nice spot, about a K and a haft off the main road, pump toilets. Farly level, in a circle lined with stones some trees in the middle.

Yes 2WD ok

Can't help you on the lake nallan one but it looks like it's a bird watching place so should be ok

Cheers

Richard

Lake Nallan is nice when has water in...lots of birds. I went past 3 weeks ago and was dry. probably still is with this season. Go in at the southern end and camp on the east side, thats put you well away from the main road, private and less traffic noise. Interesting old walks around there...be VERY careful with the kids ...old mine workings / shafts when in that general area...dont let them wander far from the camp unsupervised ...2wd ok

Life is a journey, it is not how we fall down, it is how we get up.
