I have a dual axel caravan which is wearing the tyres on one side unevenly.
Presumably i need a wheel alignment. Is it just a matter of making sure the axels are parallel and at right angles to the chasis? Can I do this with a tape measure?
Is there a machine that is needed. Advice please.

Hi Andrew
I had the same problem with the left rear tyre on the van wearing on the inside. Turned out to be wear from the pin on the hanger. The little weld had let go and allowed the pin to swivel and wear an elongated hole in the hanger which in turn allowed the spring to go out of true.
The fix was is to check the pins in the centre of the Hanger which is in the middle of the wheels and it should be welded to the hanger. If not, that could be the problem. Replace the hanger and pin and that was my fix.
Hope you find the problem
regards
Jenko
