Gday, just a quicky please, Would hilux 6 studder split rims fit my 6 stud GQ Patrol? Are they just as heavy duty as landcruiser rims or are they lighter duty along with the rest of the Hilux?
Looking at getting some second hand split rims. Would be an easy job if new Landcruisers still had 6 studders instead of fives.
Cost of new splits from the dealer; $245 each!
Thanks
Barnesy

Landcruiser one piece steel
wheels fit my GQ, is it just a Hilux thing with the different centre hole?

One pieve toyota...i wonder if you mean aftermarket sunny...because they are made to suit both,,,,the original toyota rim cruiser or lux wont fit a nissan unless the centre is ground out....i have a couple of 80 series gxl rims here that cant be balanced due to this being done....

I have a couple of friends who have used LandCruiser splits on their GQs after grounding out the centre as Andrew suggested. I haven't heard of others having balance problems afterwards.
So if you are willing to ground out the centres (its only a couple of mm), you then have a choice of two types of Hilux rims: The later IFS Hilux has an offset that is pretty close to the Patrols. The rigid front Hilux (with the 2.8 diesel motor or earlier) used the same offset as the 40/60/75series Cruisers, and that offset will give you a pleasantly wider track on a patrol, but may expose the discs and calipers to the dd spray of mud and stones.

hi barnsy
if you decide on hilux or land/cr and turn out centre as previously stated
you can get awheel balance by using a stud balance instead of using centre of wheel
also why not go to a tyre place and see if they have had
wheels traded in
i bought some land /cr 5 stud when i wanted them
cheers reggy 2

Thanks for responding to all. They were cruiser sunraysias. I have tried all of the tyre
places in town (Pt Hedland) but all of the splits get snapped up around this way. I will have a look at hilux rims now most likely later ifs models.
