I am trying to set up Windows 95 OZI & a Garmin 76 via a serial port.

OZI is working fine I am just trying to get the right Com or serial port drivers, also on the GPS menu I can only get the baud rate to 4800.
This is a TAFE computer.
Can anyone with with these settings.

I have all working on Mine XP, Magellan & USB cable. Magellan I can get to 9600 Baud rate. But the Garmin on another Computer I can only get to 4800.

Thanks in advance, Kevin

I run the latest version of Ozi on W98SE.
Serial port is almost invariably COM 1.
In the Ozi configuration, you select the Garmin 76 under the GPS tab; and COM1 under the com port tab.
Only other thing is to have the GPS's interface set at none to NMEA for moving maps to work and chnage it to GRMN/GRMN if uploading or downloading tracks and waypoints.

Whoops, forgot to add that the Baud rate is 9600 on upload/download and 4800 on NMEA.

Thanks Richard, have got the info from this site. I checked it out on my gear & works great. I hope I have success tomorrow, when I get to TAFE & setup their gear. Thanks again Kevin

Thanks all I have now fixed this problem
Garmin's have a box to tick "Use PVT for Garmin instead of NMEA"
This was ticked & I had to untick it for it to work.

I am not familiar as I use Magellan.
Thanks Again Kev
