Morning all, On average, how long does it take to drive from Inskip Point to Dundubara Camp Ground. We are unsure if we should stay there all three nights or go to Central Station first night and then onto Dundubara. Any thoughts appreciated. Regards, Glenn

Chambo

Once you get off the barge on Fraser you would probably be able to make Dundaburra in 1 and a half to 2 hours, Central Station would be about the the same as the tracks through the island are very slow going. These times do not make any allowance for the closure of the beach at Hook Point which could add up to an hour to both times. The barge across from Inskip to Hook Point takes about 20 minutes, you want to aim for the low tide.

What are you going to be doing on the Island? If fishing and relaxing then Dundabarra is excellent and just head straight there, agree it is about 1.5 - 2 hrs.

If you are going to be doing all the 'touristy' things like McKenzie, Waddy, Central then staying further down the island may avoid some travel times.

Hi Coolman, We will be doing the touristy things and hopefully a spot of fishing as well. I have booked in at Central and am looking forward to it. Thanks for the reply. Cheers, Glenn

If you are camping at Central take some warm clothes if going in winter. We did a day drive from the beach last week of June in T Shirts and shorts during the day but had to put on the warmer clothes as soon as we got out the car at Central.
