Hi all,
Just wanting some advice re upgrading, from standard
suspension, my 120 late 06 Prado. Tossing over OME or Bilstein shocks and Lovell springs?? Any advise greatly appreciated. Also getting BB, Batteries and maybe a diff lock or two instead of a winch.

I fitted OME all around my Troopy about 3 years ago, It completely change the vehicle from a beast to drive to a pleasure , I guess same would apply to a Prado, of course
mine has leaf springs and yours coils , Your vehicle,Your choice

Adam,
I had OME on previous Disco and was satifsfied. This time around I went with King Springs and Koni RAID adjustables on the recommendation of a friend. So far am very happy after a recent 15k trip to WA over some fairly harsh corrugations.
You can't go wrong with OME in many regards, but I feel the Koni's are a step further ahead. Check out Toperformance
Suspension in Bayswater, Vic and at least compare them to others. The Koni's are not cheap, but I felt the extra expense worth it at the time and time will see how long they last in comparison to the OME's.
It's really up to you how much you want to spend as there is a vast array of suspensions out there, and ALL are built to a price.
Good luck in the search.
Cheers,
Mark

We have just moved to an XGS set of shocks to match the extra raised HD springs in our 120 Prado. It was a big improvement with softer bump and rebound settings that made no real difference to the handling and provided a much more comfortable ride. As our car weighs in at 2540kgs every day with all the equipment it carries then we can say with confidence that it is a very good setup for our car and the way we drive.

Just re shocks (we have a 99 Jack) I split the shock story into XGS gas rear (they are twin tubes - to withstand stone dings) and Koni monotube gas for the front - mono's are supposed to run cooler and stone damage is unlikely there - couple of decent trips across Oz to date along very rumbly roads and all is
well.

I've got OME with 2" lift on my 100series (live axle), and compared to normal
suspension it is awesome. Rides so much better and the handling is much imp-roved. I opted for +200kg springs on the rear , but could've gone for +400kg. I also have OME shocks too.Overall very happy and vehicle has now done almost 260000km, although to drive it you wouldn't think so. My 2 bobs worth, regards Kirsten (nsw)

I've just put a set of standard height medium weight King springs and Bilstein shocks on my 2005 120 TD Prado. The most noticable change is the control of the Bilsteins, no rocking just nice smooth controlled movement. I have a Toyota alloy Bullbar,
driving lights, dual batteries.
The springs raised the front 20 mm. I got a very good price by having my mechanic buy them for me through Repco. I think its good to buy the best you can afford.
