Nice to see some locals reacting to recent Govt intervention with a sense of humour. Should the situation be reversed, I doubt if I'd be as charitable :))
From the ABC news site....

"The intervention has prompted some dry humour in a central Australian desert community.

Painted signs have appeared at Willowra, about 300 kilometres north-west of Alice Springs.

The community's welcome sign has gained a placard reading "please feel free to take over."

A community building has a sign designating where army tanks could angle park.

The community's rusty-framed public pay phone was not spared. It has been labelled "communications HQ."

Absolutely !

I am one who sometimes takes things too seriously...and sometimes not seriously enough.
More good old Ozzie laid back humour needed.
Strike me pink, stone the flamin crows (thanks, Chips )

There's always another, whatever it is....and I've forgotten.
Anyway the main point is that some locals still have a sense of humour in a very demanding situation...it may well be that some good comes of all this ...

It will be better than the crap that has gone on for the last forty odd years that I've noticed.

AND

the footy oval goal posts, which are slightly compromised by a long stick lying out in goal square, has a HELIPAD sign leaning against a goal post

AND

termite mounds have a sign nearby which says BEWARE, POINTY LAND MINES

AND

the sign on the wall which says 'youth centre' now reads ARMY RECRUITMENTcentre.

Sorry I can't just copy & paste the pics, but there ya go.

Cheers
