I posted a note about 6 weeks ago about having lost my spare (arm & all) on the Plenty Hwy from the back of my off road camper. During my trip I was amazed at the the number of people who had lost or knew someone who had lost a spare (many brands). When I went into our local (Coromal) dealer yesterday they were very quick to say that they had NEVER ever heard of this happening & if I want to make a case go directly to Coromal. I think thay need updating.
I need some ammunition so has anybody had this problem of know anybody who had a similar problem? (Coromal). I spoke to an engineer who reckons that the back bumper bar is far too thin to hold the weight of such a heavy tyre (Bridgestone A/T 16").
Appreciate yout help.

Fred,
With tongue in cheek.
The first thing you have to learn when dealing with Coromal is;
1. It is not the manufacturers fault or responsibility,go back to the dealership.
2. It is not the dealerships fault or responsibility,go back to the manufacturer.
3. Are you sure you were not driving irresponsibly because we have never heard of this happening before. And if you were driving in a poor manner you will have to have it repaired at your own expense.
Hope that may be of some help. Have a look at comments on the caravan
forum re things falling off.
Best of luck.

If it is a possible warranty claim, by consumer law, it is the dealers responsibilty to act on your behalf in liasing with the manufacturer.

Thanks Shaker but it is not a warranty. That is probably why they were so quick in dismissing it.
