recently purchased a 76csx after many years of running a garmin12. great gps, but as i am not a great technical person am having trouble trying to get moving maps on ozi up and running with the 76csx, worked fine on the garmin12. i have the gps able to transfer data[tracks and waypoints] back and
forth between itself and my laptop, but unable to get moving maps to work. have had gps and laptop outside with signal but still not happening. Any ideas.

Could be a configuration/setup problem. Will it run through Garmin Mapsource program.

Could be quite a few things, though it could be just a simple fix.....hard to tell from the info supplied.
Are you connecting via a Serial lead or the USB lead? (makes a difference to most possible answers)
The GPS is not in simulator mode for any reason? (highly unlikely)
What error messages are being displayed, if any? (eg Could not initialize communications etc)

i have a garmin III and the interface has to be set to "garmin" to upload & download waypoints etc & "nmea" to work moving maps.

Howie has hit it on the nose, you need to change the communication to NMEA, if you can transfer waypoints you can run moving map and vice versa

not necc I had exactly the same problem and it was a setting on the gps i had to swich it to NMEA out or something along those lines to get moving map happening although I could download waypoints. When it is set to NMEA out I get moving map but cant download waypoints
