We are looking at buying a camper trailer and are interested in buying a Flinders Deluxe camper trailer from Casuarina Campers or a Cavalier Camper Deluxe.

The Casuarina is more optioned up but we have not been able to get a lot of information on this camper apart from their website.

The Cavalier is reasonably basic but is a very well known product and of course is much lighter to tow behind our vehicle.

Would like some feedback on both campers from owners who have these campers.

We have a medium SUV 2 litre and one of our concerns is tare weight on the Casuarina.

We would be doing some rough road travelling and a small amount of four wheel driving.

Ok here goes.

Cuppla years back I heard about the Casaurina trailers and while in Melb (Frankston-Seaford) I took a trip out to have a squizz.

Being a tradie myself I was quite impressed with the workmanship but chose not to purchase as they were a VERY VERY small maker and I live in Cairns so no hope of any w'tee work. At time they had no one up here to honour the w'tee work..

I was down in Melb again in June and took another trip out to see if they still existed and yes they do however not in their original form..
They now sub contract work for another trailer maker BUT still make some of their own..

The company according to the "Father" is only just staying afloat however if you go inter the workshop I am sure you will be able to get some help from the guys. I will say this and that is that their trailers are quite robust and if you can get w'tee from wherever you live I would seriously think about getting one.

Grrr!!!

Hi Rlie
I've had a cavalier deluxe offroad for 7 years, hasn't given me any trouble at all.
They are basic, but good value for the money compared to some others.
Have done Gibb River road, taken on beaches etc.
