Is there any one out there that owns a 2004 model prado 4ltr v6 what the fuel consumption rate would be towing a jayco eagle off roader including heavy winds and hills Unloaded I get about approx 650km per
tank.
Cheers.
(some people just take 2 hours to watch 60 minutes)

John
You can probably expect to increase your fuel consumption by about 30%.

John, what sort of Km's do you get out of a
tank without the trailer on the back?
The reason I ask is that I tow a Australian Off Road Campers Odyssey ZR that comes in at around 1300 kg fully loaded and I get between 850 and 875 per
tank (180 L), or 20 to 21/100. If you're getting only 650, then that puts you in the 27+/100 range.
Something's definitely not right.

If you get 650kms from 180lt
tank it's not 13.84lt/100kms its 27lt/100kms. Even my old GQ petrol/gas patrol would better those figures towing.

John, I have a 2003 4.0L V6.
If you got 650 on the first 90L with the trailer, then that will give you a 1300 km range and that is next to impossible. The best I've ever got was 1126 on a lightly loaded trip from
Brisbane to
Cooktown without the trailer and "mostly" sticking to the speed limit.
As I said before ........... "Something's definitely not right."

That was without a load no load at all I was asking what the fuel consumption of a jayco eagle outback which is about 1200kg load. Thats all I am still waiting for it to arrive from eastern states I was just curious to know so I can budget my fuel cost for the trip which is about a 17 day round trip in the pilbra.

I thought you can't stay on one
tank until empty on the 120 series Prado. I think you'll find it changes over without you knowing. It's meant to swap over once it gets half empty and back again.
Well thats what I was told. The older 90 series had a switch between the 2 tanks.
1300 kms does sound too good to be true on 180 litres

The light switches on auto matically when you have switch to the second
tank. I have never run the
tank empty so less say I take at least 60km off that still I think to me it is still good economy for a 4 ltr v6

Can't help you with to V6 fuel consumption but our D4D Hilux give us 9.5 to 10.2 Lts per 100k loaded around town or in the country. With our TrakShak camper trailer on weighing 1250Kg we get 13.5 to 14.5Lts per 100K sitting on 110 to 120Km/h.
Using 4wd low range we get about 19.5Lts per 100k.
It's been chiped and it tips the scales most of the time at 2400Kg plus 1250Kg for the trailer.
