Hi Guys
I want to know what dictates the towing limit on the 4WD. I have read the GQ towing limit up to the late 90s is 2500t. What modifications can be done to the car improve this figure.

Some combination of:
1. the manufacturer marketing department
2. the manufacturer engineering department
3. the manufacturer legal department
4. the Australian Design Rules
5. the road rules
6. your insurance company
7. the actual design of the vehicle
Modifications to the car require engineering oversight and approval by a qualified engineer (qualified to make vehicle modifications) and then endorsed by your local registration authority.
In practice, you can't improve that figure unless installing a 5th wheel type setup.
Cheers
Andrew.

Gday Rooster
I think 2500t is a bit much to ask of a 4x4. Just check out the new add for volkswagon to rag ,, they tow a 747, and thats only 375 t . So the sky is the limit.
