Any great camping places from Coral Bay to Yardie creek? Prefer to camp southern side of Yardie creek . Please any information would be appreciated we are self sufficient and would like to do a spot of fishing

Also anyone camped in Cape Range National Park near Exmouth, down Charles Knife Rd ? Is there any camping there all we can find on Naturebase site is it says sightseeing, and toilet picnice area?

Winderabandi Bay is nice beach, just south of the border of the National Park. Is part of Ningaloo Station; they charge a fee. No fresh water tho. Not too far out to the coral reef (about 300m).
We camped on the beach for a week. Used salt water to wash.
But there are heaps of nice isolated places on Ningaloo station. Worth a drive into Norwegian Bay to see the old whale station.
Cheers,

Winderabandi is a lovely place except for the humans who can't enjoy the beauty without hooning up and down the beach on quad bikes.
I realize some oldies have needs for these machines because of mobility problems re access from caravan to beach and that's fair enough.
I would be pleased if Ningaloo Station management banned them for all other campers as they detract from the experience and certainly harm the fragile dune system as witnessed on last trip.
I'm sure DEC ( formerly CALM ) are watching this activity and the goat contribution very closely.

Good luck

Sorry to hear that. We were there about 4 years ago, and while there were people camped about 500m away in each direction, we had total peace.
Sign of the times, I guess.

Mike some good places to camp are just north of Winderabandi in Defence land, I work for Defence in that area, another good spot is Sandy Bay which is further north again but just outside of Cape Range National Park, the environmental officer who looks after that area doesnt mind who camps there, but one thing he asks please take your rubbish with you and bury your human waste, we have had some real problems this year, before Easter at Sandy Bay we found someone had left all their camping gear and rubbish, whoever owned it did not take or clean up a thing, personnally I would give Winderabandi a miss, unfortunately the hoon element with four wheel bikes have taken a liking to the place, New Years was really bad along with Easter, I spent half a day there and moved out. Charles Knife is sightseeing only no camping. If you would like PM me and I could meet with you and show you some good spots.

Cheers
Mark

Thanks for the info, will look you up Mark closer to the time. Hopefully not being public holiday time might eliminate the hoons along the beach on quad bikes.

cheers MIke
