Has anybody had any problems with their pathfinder engine? mine had a hole in the piston number 3 at only 60000kms
can anybody tell me if somebody has had the same problem?
I had never seen a hole like that one it comes in in an angle and damaged the piston, & sleeve and craked the block like if a bullet went in the engine, the injector flew out, the engine was still running?
thanks
jorge

Hi Jorge,
Did Nissan come to the party on warranty, or did they reckon you had a non-Nissan tow bar fitted and reject your claim? ;-)

Good to hear that they are coming to the party. Pity to hear of issues with this new engine tho - hope it's not a repetition of the 3.0 engine.

I hope not I think its a better engine than a 3.0 they told me that mi incident its the first, and searched the web and its the only one that I heard of, I dont know why mine did, maybe its because I use it too much, sometimes I do the 5000 kms in 2 days, sometimes in the same week.
also I really like to go fast maybe that too (when the engine failed I was going at 200kms , also the engine oil I use ( well the dealer) is pennzoil and not synthetic, I think that the new engines need synthetic because they are more stressed and conventional oil doesnt sustain the viscosity, once I checked my oil al 2000kms and dripped like water, had almost no viscosity, I told the dealer but they told me that I could only use pennzoil(cause they distribute it) if not my warranty will be voided.
well hope its the first and last
