Hells Gate Roadhouse?

Am currently in Cooktown after two weeks on the road
I need a bit of info as I have heard rumours that Hells Gate Roadhouse is now closed. If this is true then I will have fuel problems as I plan to travel from Mt Isa to Lawn Hill then Hells Gate Roadhouse then Borroloola then Roper Bar.
I have a Prado with LPG and 70 ULP sub tank and can carry three or so Jerry cans of ULP while towing the camper trailer.
The question is Can I make it if Hells Gate is closed.

Lloyd, fuel is available at Gregory Downs and Adel's Grove (or was last year when we were there). Don't know about LPG though.
But that's two more places to call and check.

Adel's Grove to Borroloola is (very) roughly 350KM.

Wollogorang Roadhouse is 50km west of Hell's Gate. I'm not sure if it is still operating. When we were last there we voted them as the rudest people we had ever met.

Lovely property they have,
unfortunately they weren't very accomodating to peoples needs.
But when people come in and ask for clutch slave cylinder for thier troopy, 4 new tyres express air delivery from Mt Isa and women complaining that the farmhands are staring at them then asking where the nearest ATM is , the patience level gets a little short.
After all, we should all be paying four times as much to camp on their front lawn.......... shouldn't we?

I think the term I heard muttered when I was there last was in a hurry city-yites

Lloyd I also heard they were closed, as I also run ULP/LPG I would fuel up with fuel at either Mt Isa or Camooweal from then on I would run only ULP until after fueling at Adels Grove, from their with your LPG full (am guessing at least 50ltrs) and 130ltrs of ULP you should have plenty to get from Lawn Hill to Borroloola, from memory its about 475k's meaning you would have to burn over 35ltrs per 10 to be near trouble..... I use 21ltrs with a Jayco Eagle Outback on LPG and around 18ltrs on ULP. Mitsi 3ltr

Thanks for the help guys.
I phoned Hells Gate and they are closed (emergency fuel only) but if I can get ULP at Adels Grove then I should be OK which the woman that I spoke to at hells Gate said I should be able to.

Thanks again.
Will let you know how I got on when I get to Darwin.
