Has anyone figured out an easy way to change an oil filter on a LC100 V8.

Go in from the top or the bottom.

I'm almost tempted to pay someone else to do it, and subject myself to the perils of the "free" safety checks offered by many.

Have been burnt previously when oil was squirted on drum brake wheel cylinders on my Pajero, at 100,000k at a free safety check, and offered a large repair bill which I declined. 200k and they still are going strong with no signs of further leakage.

Hi Go-N-Grey,
Just undo the couple of screws from the access plate directly underneath the oil filter.
Easy access from there on.

Thanks,

I have looked at the top way, lots of barked hands and blood, wheel wheel just as bad, didn't bother to look underneath, it all seemed too solid when looking from above.

Got to find the sump plug yet, but given your advice, there is probably a simple way there too!

Will check it out tomorrow, but it now looks like my tojo will live on a diet of clean oil and filters. No better secret to long life.

Cheers
