I've recently started to look around for a very robust trailer (not camper) capable of cross country travel.
Easy you say?
Well I'm here to tell you, there is a gap in the communication process.
After a bit of looking around, I rang a manufacturer and was told their Off Road model was bullet proof. Went around and was presented with something akin to a domestic box trailer with a few additions. It then started to get interesting:
Me "I want a full chassis with an incorporating A frame"
Reply "You don't need that, come and have a look at our new kitchen"
Me " Can you construct a
suspension system to my requirements"
Reply "
The springs are really strong. Now come over here and I'll show you our other models"
Me (starting to get exasperated) "I want to talk about your advertised capacity to build a purpose built trailer"
Reply "All of our trailers will satisfy your needs"
At this stage it was obvious this particular person didn't have a clue what I was talking about. So I left.
Can anyone recommend a manufacturer in
Melbourne who has some measure of experience in delivering what I need?
Regards
Kim

Hi Kim,
Give Tru Blu Campers a try. They make trailers as
well as the normal camper trailers.
Web site is www.trublucampers.com.au

Kim,
I had
mine built by Jim at Coota Campers in Cootamundra, a bit further away from
Melbourne but he may be able to assist.
Check my Rig pics for the type of
suspension and chassis frame he used.
www.cootacampers.com.au
no affiliation just a very happy customer
Cheers Kev

The tare weight is about 500kg

There use to be a manufacturer in the Station St area of Cranbourne who made a very good trailer. Very easy to get on with, and prepared to listen. If it's the same fella I'll be happy to talk to him again.
Many thanks
