Is it wireless? If so the battery might be a bit low. Otherwise I'd suggest it's a font issue. Replacing some windows components has screwed up a system font.

Yep. I have seen incredibly funny behavior from keyboards. Up until as least two behave in the same way I would not try to do anything else.

Unplug it and carefully inspect connector for bent pins.

I will add that I did dothe test in PC help and
tools where it has an on screen keyboard and you have to press all the keys on your keyboard and each one dissapears n the screen and all key buttons worked ok , now I just found another section of application Drivers where I can reinstall drivers and hopefully it looks like it is working ok .
Just have to wait and see now,
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
looks like it might be ok

Faulty jack? The port the cable goes into could be faulty.
Some tomato sauce from the burger got into keyboard?
I recently installed Ubuntu and Firefox and now the PC is magically back to its quick, reliable self.

Just been into PC octor and did a test on the whole system , I don't see how a bent pin could be the source f this trouble, . I feel it has t be in the keyboard itsef, Just discovered a wireless one in the closet so will give it a go

are you talking a laptop??
Mine is shocking for it. If you dont hit the keys perfectly it looks like I am- drink posting (often am when on break) acer traclemate. Craps me to tears but I guess for the price of a keyboard I should just plug one in

Hi Doug
If it is somewhat random and not the same letter or number,,, try turning the auto save off,,, can't rememember where to do this but my previous work laptop used to miss say 3-5 characters as it was auto saving info,,,
this may or not help but others should know how to turn this feature off and test it.
Cheers Baz

Auto save is a feature in applications like Word, Excel etc, not web browsers.
