Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone can tell me whether the 'Rocket' marine battery (by global & yuasa battery co) would be any good for a GU for general camping/4wd use?
It is a large sealed, 95amp/hr and 780 CCA battery. I would be installing two of these.
Also, it is a wet charger (sealed calcium battery)- what does this mean? does it require a special charger?
The reason i am asking is because i can get them for $110 ea. (RRP $260)
See link below

Thanks for all your help
Regards
Brett

I have a marine battery in the Patrol and found it to be excellent. Sealed with lots of CCA and also good a-h too.

Just took my new battery ( calcium ) out of my skiboat and put it in my Patrol as a second battery also
curious as to how many other people have used the same batteries
I will be running the winch and Waco fridge from the second battery

Boc,
before you use the winch with the second battery make very sure the "isolator" and the fridge will not be 'fried' when the winch is working as they draw heaps of power, far more than some "isolators" can handle.
A sticker on the Warn winch I last used recomended using a Cranking battery to power their winch.
I had a Calcium Deep Cycle battery to power my fridge for about 4 years, took it out about 14 months ago and now use it as the Cranking battery.

HI there , so it would be best to just leave the second battery to all low amperage drawing acessories, does anyone else have comment on this also ?
