Hey every one out there just wondering what the road is like between Munjina Roadhouse to Mill Stream via Wittenoon and especially towing a off road caravan.

Not recent knowledge, but 4 years ago we went from Karajini and Hamersely Gorge to this road and on to
Millstream-Chichester and Roebourne. We were towing a little old wind up van, and travelling at normal speed the front of the van took a bashing with small stones as we had no stone guard, and when we went to fill up the
water tank on the van, it was holed. It was a small plastic
tank with inadequate protection from the stones. Unless anything has changed dramatically for the worse over the past 4 years, you should have no problems whatsoever. I doubt it would be much different from Auski to where we met the road. We have been on far worse roads, and often the shire road to our farm is worse! The road through the Chichester and into
Millstream was good; the stony part being the section nearer to Karajini.

I'm sure ours wouldn't have got the bashing it did if we'd gone slower, but i wasn't driving at the time! The Patrol handled the road fine, and the van just followed and copped the stones. It was never designed for that type of treatment.

Just be aware of the
millstream link ( new road works ) between the top of the Chichesters and
Karratha, there are signs up everywhere and they will be in place for a long while yet.
We are expecting rain again this weekend and this can dramatically change road conditions over night ........... steady ......steady
No hurry, take it easy and enjoy the scenery
Cheers Dave

G'day John.
Followed a similar route a few years back in a VP Commodore wagon. Lots of stones and dips in the road ( from memory ), but took our time and had no problems. Mount Florence was quite a nice spot to overnight. Plenty of desert peas when we went through.
Cheers.

We did the
Pilbara Iron rail maintenance road from
Tom Price to the main road into
Millstream about a month ago so only did a small section of the road you are talking about. Provided its in the same condition you shouldn't have any problems as long as you take it easy. Plenty of off road campers in
Millstream when we were there.

We went passed
Millstream as the brochures all said no caravans, and when we went there as a day trip without the camper, we found caravans and campers, even Jaycos.
The loop road is a bit narrow in
places, but nothing unusual at all. It is a lovely spot, with some very nice
camping areas along the
water's edge.
