Heading for Lawn Hill from Mt Isa this morning then on to Boroloola and Roper Bar.
Have decided I will be able to carry enough fuel even though Hells Gate Roadhouse is no longer.
Will give you all an update on road conditions when we get to Katherine possibly in about a weeks time or so.

Which way are you going from Mt Isa, via Cloncurry / Gregory or via Yelvertoft-Thorntonia road

Hi Doug we're hoping to go up through Yelvertoft, Thorntonia, Riversleigh to Adels Grove on the 12/08.
Will give road conditions when I can and am going to try and track it with the quest.
Any tips would be much appreciated as i know your a bit of a guru on the garmin.

Regards
Franga

You won't have any problems with that route, it's sealed up to Gregory Downs-Camooweal Rd and a couple of more bits before the Riversleigh turn Off , This time of the year it should be graded , You will find the track on the Quest ok , where ou turn off the Barkly Hwy it is out bit and the Yelvertoft-Thorntonia not accurate I think it will show off to your right by about 200m , Tracks4Australia is better
