hi guys

i have a 94 hzj 75 landcruiser ute just wandering if anybody can help me out,i have a problem with the body walking, when i hit the accelerator it seems to twist then when you back off it straightens up, this happens when you are driving from about 50kmh up it only does this a little bit.but it is enough to annoy me.i have replaced all shocky rubbers, but i think the drivers side rear shackle is faulty it has a fair amount of play in it when you jam a lever bar in there could this be the problem any help would be great.

It could be an axle alignment issue. check the distance from front wheel centre to back wheel centre on each side and see if they are the same

i forgot to mention that i have already done that and all is good ,it only started doing it about a week ago.i thought that maybe because of the forces on the diff under acceleration it is tmoving the worn shackle and causing the body twist

We had the same problem with one of our trucks at work, and found that the centre bolt in the rear spring was broken. Good as new now.
cheers , Lance

You haven't got a cracked chassis have you?
A friend had a similar problem and the front tubular crossmember was cracked on both sides and the RH chassi rail was cracked behind where the transmission crossmember is bolted on.
Apparently it is not that uncommon in 75's, his literally fell apart when the body was unbolted from the mounts as the body, transmission and front springs/diff housing where holding it all together.

i have been under the truck several times and have had a pretty good look at the chassis i haven't noticed any cracks, its pretty tidy underneath if it was a cracked chassis i would think that i would be able to feel flex in the truck all the time or a bad ride at the least, but im really not sure. the truck drives perfectly the suspension is nice and firm except the dodgy rear shackle
cheers

Brentos

I would replace all your shackle bushes (front & rear) They are just about a regular service item & will certainly cause your complaint.

Cheers Fazz.
