Are these any good? We have read the test in 4wd Monthly but would like feedback from anyone in the know.

mate i have one for work 2007 auto TD dual cab with rear canopy and i frankly i do not like it - i would allege the following: - its very noisy as the turbo whistles and screams, its underpowered, compared to my own 2004 3.0 TD nissan patrol, and its also quite rough to ride in, and in my opinion it is a very ordinary performer in 4wd in soft sand but then no doubt wider tyres would help and an upgrade chip also - and the petrol version which another guy has at work while betteris not all that great either IMHO and frankly none of my mates at work like driving my work vehicle as it has a terrible blind spot drivers side rear passenger door area - but hey its your choice how you spend your money on a vehicle that suits you best
see you greg

I've got the RA07 TD space cab and am very happy with it so far. No probs with anything and have taken it through some rough stuff. Compared it with all the likely contenders and bought it because of the better payload, tray space and good ground clearance as I carry a camper on the back. Added after market
suspension and it handles really
well. Lots of get up and go to, even with the fully loaded camper on the back.

Traded our 04 for the 07 3.0 diesel dual cab ute.
Very happy with it. Trick as we found with the previous car is to run tyre pressure on the low side for a good ride. This would be a common but little understood thing with lightly loaded rear leaf sprung utes.
Economy is excellent in real life use.
Power is excellent. 5 speed smooth to shift.
I like the looks, good compromise between space cadet (Triton) dumb and boring (
Ranger, mazda)
Isuzu motors have a bullet proof reputation (unlike the nissan 3l flavour)
My next door neighbour just sold his late 80 Rodeo with 450k (got good money for it too)

Unfortunately Isuzu produced a 3l flavour more bitter than the Nissan ZD30 problems - The 4JX1 in the Jackaroo's.

I was unaware of issues with 4JX1, I stand corrected.
I was talking about the 2.8l in the Rodeo, 3.9 Land Rover and others as
well as the bigger truck stuff.

I had the 2.8 rodeo - great vehicle - why I went to the Jackaroo - unfortunately not so great vehicle. Made in Japan then for memory - now most are made in Thailand or similar. Totally different vehicles now.
