Doing a little homework again. so does this sound right........
for a 11wk trip -3 of which is csr.....plus the usual deserty kinda driving.....doing it in our 80 series loaded with the usual crap...on ULP.
average : 24LPH
: litres used : 2640
: cost / Lt - $2
: total cost fuel $5280
I fingured that a lot of the trip rpice of petty wouldnt be 2 bucks but thought some of it would be if not more....so kept this as an average. Our trip last year we seemed to hit 24LPH a fair bit out in the sand and gibber etc (19LPH on the hw...)
Did I work it out right...Ivelooked at the numbers people have punched in and seems to be ok....just anna get a opinion.....plus I got 5 miutes up my sleeve before the kids get bored of the telly!!!
Have a good one......Im going to be an aunty tday so cheering!!!!

We had a laden 4.2 petrol GQ with us when we did the CSR years ago, it used 360 litres between Halls Crk and
well 23 (the only fuel available back then) where the diesel cruisers (very heavily laden) used around 160 - 180 litres for the same distance.

Just back from part of the
Canning Stock Route and the Calvert Ranges. 2007 Nissan Patrol 3L diesel pretty loaded up, 160L extra fuel. Filled up at
Kumarina Roadhouse, to the stock route via Neds
Creek. 1450 Km journey back to
Wiluna including about 100 Km towing a Jayco pop top. 230 litres of fuel used. 6.3 Km/L or 15.87 L/100Km if the maths are correct.
Max we paid for fuel ... $1.727 / L for diesel at Kumarina. Only needed 32L to top up from Capricorn RH (into the wind towing 4.44 Km/L ! )

Hi Driver1,
We just came back from the Canning, from South to North. We paid $2.80 for diesel at
Well 33, and that was to be put up to $3.00 just after we filled up.We were prepared for it but it was not cheap.A great trip though!

Laura
I expect to use 160-180 lts for each 1/2 of the CSR
Navara twin cab ute 3.0TD
Not to mention getting there and back
10,000km round trip at 6.5 - 7.0 km/lt = 1500 lts, add 300 for the canning, and back along the Gunbarrell, for hard going.
I expect to use roughly 1800 lts ,,,
These figures are based on our last 2 trips in
the desert
And I don't care how much the price of fuel is !
Just love it !
LOL
