Re posts - 46258 48000 , these were about performance claims on Stanley
and Aladdin thermos flasks which I held to be not technically possible.

I believe the following extract from a recent email are a satisfactory
end to the matter.

I would like to add that any and all of us can make mistakes
and its the way we handle them that counts.
In my opinion this company has set an excellent example

---------------------------------------------

Dear Robin,

Thank you for your vigilance in testing our product and highlighting
what has now been discovered as a mistake in our product label.

This issue is something that slipped through our QC area and as
mentioned we only test our product to a maximum of 12 hours hot and 24 hours cold.
This mistake occurred on the 1.9lt Stanley product we shipped into
Australia earlier this year.

As a company we take our quality control very seriously, and once
again we thank you for drawing this to our attention.
This incident has allowed us tighten our checks and balances in the
printing of the labels which we see as a good thing.

We will be taking steps in the next few weeks to rectify this problem in Australia.

I would like to arrange to send you a gift as a token of our appreciation
for your 'eagle eye', therefore, if you could forward me your home
address I will make arrangements to have this shipped to you.

Once again, thank you and we are grateful for your support.

Kind regards
*************

Lets hope he has a PO Box :))

But in all a good outcome I think.

Cheers Kev

Well done Robin. I guess they didn't really have any alternative other than to fess up. But what about the poor suckers who bought one thinking it was much better than it was?
Your situation also shows that better outcomes will usually be achieved by a pleasant approach with a complaint rather than abusing them.
Cheers from the Moose

Saw a beautiful film Yesterday Moose

It was called "Amazing Grace" , almost devoid of violence sex and bad language.

It was a people film about a long rentless fight by one man to
abolish slavery by calmly and consistently presenting the facts backed
up by logical arguement.

Showed that real change can occur peacefully!

Well done Robin for sticking to the task and well done to Stanly/Alladin for admitting their problem and making restitution to you with a peace offering.
