Wouldn't think of not using the Flashtube Oldpop.

There are other options - but I don't personnaly use gas or it. If your post fails to come with answers I'm sure I can come up with reccomendations in a few days.

Unfortunately a friend of mine had problems with his 4.5lt 80series gas installation and has had it removed.

It really is one of these things that can work but only if implemented well.

I have had a flash lube fitted to my 80 series for about 2 years and found it ok.
Morey's is another system available i have seen at super cheap.
Nulon make a valve saver lube as well a little cheaper that would work in a flash lube system.
I buy the 5 liter containers of flash lube and get about 25/30 thousand klm from it.
I found flash lube avaiable in most places even in the outback.
As for if the lube saves the valves or is it worth while you will get good and bad feed back.
I will always use it running on lpg.
And it makes me feel warm and fuzzy to do so.

Rob.

I only ever made one mistake
and that's when I thought I was wrong!

Hi bigpop,
I have an LC100 v8 on gas and have the Flash Lube installed.
When doing my research everyone bar none strongly suggested that one or similar be installed.
I buy mine in a 1 litre container.
This lasts me about 10 tank fulls or about 4500km.
I can't see the point in purchasing larger quantities just to sit around for up to a year or so.
I have never had any trouble in finding when it when required even in smaller country towns.
Regards
Craig

I have had my 80 (4.5P) on LPG since 1998. I have had flashlube on it since the conversion and never had any issues. You can also pour the flashlube into the fuel tank as it cleans injectors very well. I go through about 1.5lt a year of flashlube and that works out to about $20.
I also use it in my trailbike and can only reccomend it. A mate who's a mechanic once said to me that alot of people reckon it's a gimmick but he beleives it is a good thing as do I. My cruiser now has 270k on it and has done 200 of that with LPG. Runs as smooth as new and has never had an issue with valves. However with the engine bay bottle feeder I will, on long trips, adjust the tap so it feeds more oil into the motor. Otherwise 1 drop every 5 seconds.
