My young bloke has a persistent problem with the fuel filter in his 2.8 D (aftermarket turbo) clagging up with gunk. It has a long range tank fitted that doesn't have a drain plug. I'm looking for someone in the Canberra/Queanbeyan area that is able to remove the tank flush the system aft of the filter and put it back together again. Does anyone know of a mechanic/service centre who does this sort of work in the area?
Thanks
Pete

Hi Pete,

If you are going to do the above, why not get them to fit a drain plug as well while their at it. Will make it easier in the future if you need to drain the tank because of dodgy fuel.

Regards

Being a diesel tank a removable plate or drain plug can be fitted while the tank is in the vehicle.

This should cut time and cost down.

Have a good one

The gunk may be alge would suggest a good quality diesel treatment like Moreys and a few filter changes later it might be fixed.

Cheers

Thanks Hillbillie - took tank out (longranger) there was so much gunk in it it has had to be cut in half fully cleaned and welded back together. All lines aft of the filter have also been removed and where possible cleaned or otherwise replaced.
Cheers
Pete
