Scoof
Can you pack up a Kimberly Kamper with only one person, or is it too difficult.
If anyone has any idea's on the best way to tackle this job let me know.
Cheers Scoof.. :-)

Scoof,
Short answer is yes, but can be a struggle. I can manage it no problems, but my wife found it a bit more difficult. The difficulty comes in holding the floor in position while you scoot around and stuff the canvas in. Try fitting a bit of strong cord to the floor with loops at various distances along the length. Hook these loops over one of the front latches to hold the floor at the right angle as you go around to shove the canvas in. Worked
well for me. The other fun part is when it is
well loaded and you need to jump on top to squash it all down and do the latches up at the same time.
As I said, I found it easy enough, but height, strength and weight are an advantage.
Cheers,
Matt.

We used a simialr sytem to Matt with our hard floor Aussie camper. A strap with a few eyelets to a hook on the front of the trailer moving don one at a time as you fold canvas in. Becomes easier with practice.

Can be done happily - just takes more time - know some people with a KK that have do it, when necessary. The trick is to have a means of stopping the floor from going back down when you want to stop part way up in the close cycle - as mentioned, various simple cord setups can do this ....... my method on my Campomatic (much the same as the KK) is displayed on my site..........the Campo page at ..... users.picknowl.com.au/~darian/
Note that pulling on the rope hard is not the go - that may bow the canvas supports - I lift the floor from right at the back and just take up the slack in the rope as I go (or pull the canvas forward - whatever is best at the time.
I have seen people with a hand (and electric too) boat winch on the front of the trailer - they just hook it over to the back and pull the lot over - worked for them.
Aussie Swag in QLD may have a power closer as an option for theirs - saw one in use outback at one stage.

Instead of the rope business we fitted a boat style hand winch with strap instead of cable to the front of the draw bar box , when time to pack up we just throw a rope from front to rear over camper and attach rope to winch , pull rope to get winch strap over roof of camper and clip strap to floor , NOT to frame , winding in the winch allows us to stop at any point needed to shove and prod canvas as we still have the cantilever effect of the frame pulling one way and the winch the other / campomatic
ranger mk3.

Hi mate,
I have a old model Kimberly Kamper and can pack up/set up by myself but it can be difficult. I haven't used
the loop method as mentioned above as I can do it without this (does sound good though) but the hard part is controlling the floor coming down when folding in the canvas.
Cheers mate

g'day scoof, i usually travel alone and now have a
kimberley, when packing it up i hold the floor/lid up a bit with a broom handle while i tuck the canvas in. it works pretty easy for me.
cheers sparra.
