Was talking to a Nissan dealer today and he advised that there was a update coming later this year - would not/or could not say what, just that it was coming.
Anyone heard anything on this ?
Thanks
Graeme

I guess thats what he would say!!! Most of those sales morons wouldnt know if their backside was on fire.. I was just about to post about the lack of information given about the "all new" model Patrol that was promised about 3 years ago for 2006 release. At least Toyota to their credit have at least outlined what they are doing and have released their new diesel in the 'hose out model". A new 200 series coming and a release date.
My 2003 4.2TDI has 210,000 ks on it and 4 years old, and im at a stage now that if Nissan have not released info about a new Patrol model before the new LC 200 is available, i will be sitting in a new Toyota. Nissan Australia, i believe are treating all their supporters like mugs and i guess it will be to their detriment. A few years ago, Patrols were selling at a rate of 600 a month from memory but sales of the latest model have slumped to about 600 a half year.. I personally think there may be an upgrade of the current "ugly box" and when sales die to a dismal few, the patrol will be gone. I hope i'm not right!! Michael

Shaker!! I guess that should have read "some"... and i was reffering to the Nissan guys that i have dealt with over the last 9 years.. Unless there is a statement from head office, the sales guys know the same as us. I'd be happy if the Nissan sales guys knew their own products
well and stick to that. Michael

I think you have hit the nail on the head, & it is probably unfair to blame the sales department if Nissan keep them in the dark too.

I had a drive of the 2008 Nissan Armada 5.6L V8, maybe that is coming to Australia? Very solid vehicle, much more room in it than the Patrol (seats 8 adults very comfortably), higher towing capacity (4 tonnes) and a much smoother ride. Only downside would be the off-road capability, but a few aftermarket gizmos could fix that. It did actually feel no less capable than a LC100 Series though. Plenty power and torque and cruises nicely at 80mph effortlessly at low rpms.

We checked them out in Vegas last year. They are huge with the big slab sides. I dont think you could sell it here without a diesel engine. Michael

The onlu 'update' I have heard of is the ute being released with that pathetic excuse for an engine and styling from the current wagon.
People are gonna be lined 10 deep at sales room doors in anticipation..........
Nissan doesn't need to build a new CRD engine for the Patrol, just give me a shotty and the greenies who brought in the new emmisions laws.........Blat Blat Blat and the TD42's back!
