Been staying with a mate next door to the hall - they sound good.
Suggest you take a swag or similar - there is not much accom at Mungindi.
The Jolly has a couple of rooms, the caravan
park has been taken over recently but is horrible still (take some cleaning products with you). Just over the bridge in Qld is a good spot to
camp but not many fish in the river.
Moree and
Lightning Ridge have hot
water bores (both about 1-1.5hrs away).
I believe there is a place for
camping setup during the festival.

The same week end (Sept 29th), Talwood is hosting there anual race meeting. Talwood is 80 km from Mungindi, on the Qld (good) side, and has been holding the race meeting for 75 years. There are some
camping facilities at the sports oval in town for those of you who may be interested in some bush racing and country hospitality in the red dust at Talwood.
