Of possible interest to Terrano owners and recent contributors re Cooper tyres, I completed CSR, N to S late June in 99 Terrano with two other vehicles (Landcruiser and Hilux). Terrano had Cooper H/Ts when I bought it. Handled the trip with ease. Only breakage was second battery box broke free (strapped up with cable ties). No punctures but other vehicles had 8 punctures/blowouts between them and a set of leaf springs (both had done a lot of work and
well laden). Struck one bloke who had 10 punctures/blowouts. Also Landrover with u/s shockies. Not so much as a rattle in the Terrano after trip. Consequently can't fault either Terrano or Coopers!

Hey Mike, good to hear you had a trouble free trip on the CSR and had time to enjoy the scenery.
Just a note on the tyres, I have no axe to grind with any of the brands having owned 2 sets of Cooper ST's with no problems at all, same goes for my neighbour, all sets run about 50/50 tar to dirt and on some npt so good roads and tracks.
Watch a guy that I had stopped for on a narrow Cape track last week so he could pass without getting of the track.
Well he was to intent on showing me how good his 4wd was and went into the sticks to get round. Not only did he damage the bush, he had no chance of seeing what his tryes were running over, a lot of tyre stakeing is caused by drivers who can only see point A to point B and not whats on the ground.
Tyre brands, just for a bit of info we use top brand MT's at work underground.
Low range locked, Max 35kph, 1 in 6 decline and always turning. Max before they are worn out is 5000k and that's down to the belts with strips of tread coming off.
Cheap brands last around 2500k. All tyres are steels on safety rims.
Have a safe one

As for the Landy shocks, they couuld have been worn out or seen a lot of work. Had to replace both my front shocks on the cruiser the other day, plain worn out.

If you are referreing to a Terrano 2 then I can agree with you on one point out of two.
My experience with Cooper STs was dreadful, they are hopeless on Outback tracks & rocky High Country terrain. I can't comment on HTs or SSTs as I have never, & will never try them.

Not sure what I got, but it also didn't help me to find out that the Cooper warranty is worth 3/5 of f*** all!
