Hello
someone has crossed recently yardle
creek?
how they are the road conditions leaving from
shark bay?
and for low tides...someone know at what time is possible crossing without problems? better early morning or late afternoon?
Suggestion for a good caravaning
park after crossing
creek?
Better spot for snorkeling?
Thanks
Giorgio

Anyone would think that crossing Yardie Ck is like crossing the Amazon.
When the tide is out it is a dry
sandy creek bed that can easily be crossed by a 4WD towinga van. I emphasis 4WD as it is soft sand!
There are no caravan parks in the area except for
Exmouth and
Coral Bay. There are
camping areas around
Ningaloo and you may need permits. Speak the CALM.
I don't see the association between Yardie Ck and
Shark Bay.
Shark Bay is around 500 km away, maybe more and the road from
Denham is the bituman highway. Perhaps you mean
Coral Bay. If so the road is badly corrugated and very slow going south from Yardie.

Hi Giorgio,
I’ve just got back from
Ningaloo,
camping on
the beach on one of the stations up there. Yardi
creek can be easily crossed, when I was there it was bucketing down and high tide, you need to walk it first and check it but most of the time it’s only shallow. It was just above my knees and the crossing reasonably firm, I dropped tyre pressure to 15psi and no dramas. A 4wd that was towing a camper did however got a little bogged on the sand leading to the crossing but his tyre pressure was to high and after helping him out he decided to wait till the afternoon when the tide went down a little more. I caught up with him in
Exmouth and he said that the
water level dropped to just above the ankles, he got through ok.
I was coming from south of Yardi
Creek heading north along the tracks and the tracks were flooded because of the heavy rains but still passable. When we were about to leave
Exmouth to head back to
camp along the same way we came the
information centre advised us that the road and tracks leading to Yardi
Creek were “CLOSED” and if you ignore the closure signs the
ranger will fine you $2000. We had no option but to go back along the Hwy along the gulf side but it was no real big deal.
So check with the info centre at
Exmouth for road closures and conditions.
The Light house caravan
park looked like a real nice
park, close to all the popular spots.
Turquoise bay for skin diving beaut spot.
All the best ,
Stamps
