Hi All A mate is looking at buying a Nissan Patrol GU Ute 1999 4.2ltr turbo diesel from a dealership it has 202,000 Kms on the clock, is there anything he should get them to replace, check or anything before he buys it.?? Or does it sound like he's getting himself into trouble.??
Cheers

Yep check the 5th gear problem in this era and see if it has had the replacement splineshaft, if not ring Nissan H/O and quote VIN no and they should be able to tell you if that vehicle is effected by this mongrel prob. Other than that, the k's should be no probs but a mechanics check is always adviseable before any purchase,
mine is 2000 model with 320000 on it, worked to the hilt and still no drama's so far with engine.
Regards, Trevor.
