4wd systems

I had one fitted to my Triton some years back I had no problems at all.That was one item's I got from them 4wd systems I didn't have any trouble with.

thanks mate,i'm looking at getting one shipped to me and installing it myself. did you install it yourself or have them fit it?

I fitted one of their 80 litre sub tanks to my Patrol earlier this year and so far so good.....no worries at all. The only thing we had to do is slightly grind a bit of steel out of one of the mounting lugs to enable the bolts the go in the right spot.

I looked at their tanks and the Out of Town 4WD Longranger tanks and decided that the quality of finish and attention to detail in the Longranger made the 4WD Systems product look very inferior.

I've not had the 4WD Systems tank so can't comment more than that. The Longranger has done well on 40,000ks including lots of bashing around it gets.

The body lift 4WD Systems did on my vehicle was missing one of the body blocks fixing the body onto the chassis.
Then I did some web research on the business. No comments publicly, just do your own search.

I fitted one of their long range tanks to my 80 series 7 years ago.

No problems at all, easy installation and no issues since.

I have bought one of there snorkels, two rear shocks and a a set of side steps from them and so far so good! No dramas with anything i have got and find there prices much more aggreeable than some other companies. (and yes before anyone says it i know you pay for what you get but i'm happy so far).

I ordered a longrange tank for a Challenger, to be fitted by mechanics in Brisbane. Off the road for three days. The actual mounts were too short, it was touching the chassis. The fill and breather were out of whack and the original seals were useless against the new tank surface.
The tank as a usable product is fine, no problems. Did a run to WA via the corner, Strezlecki, Holland Track and a few other obscure places. No problems. The tank was well up and out of the way. As someone mentioned previously, the finish may not be fantastic, but its still a fair option. The problems I encountered may just be an isolated case.

I bought a roofrack off them for the GQ. They botched the installation job by overtightening the bracket clamps. Two years on and all the legs of the rack had cracked. The most load I had on top was two spare wheels on a special trip into the Simpson(about 70 kilos in weight). The rack could not handle the rough conditions. 4WD Systems were reluctant to come to the party for a claim even at cost and I had a'mate weld the rack legs and strengthen them with gussets. I have sold the rack since then.

I bought a 75series snorkel a few years ago and fitted it myself. The finish and fit was pretty ordinary and I had to make some home made mods to make it fit correctly. It still worked but you expect something to work no matter what the price is (yes I bought it because it was the cheapest......how hard is it to make a snorkel). I had to buy it over the phone and get it sent so couldn't have a look at it first. I know this is a different product from what you are looking at but I would definatly have a look at the different brands before making the decision. Good luck.

i put a long range tank in the GU i wished that i had it ready when the vehicle was being fitted up for delivery, as the tow bar makes it harder to tighten the rear bolts,
i also fitted their battery set up(the h duty) once again this would have been a lot easier to put the battery tray in if it had been done before the snorkle had been fitted, both products have worked faultlessly.
