Unfortunately they do not fit. The offset will cause the tyre to rub on the guard under suspension compression conditions. The IFS LC has a wide axle track.

Hi Kev,
Short answer, Yes.

Long answer, not really. The live axle rims being zero offset stick ouside the body work by an inch or two on an IFS wagon. Oddly enough by the exact difference in the two styles of rim offset!

I can get a set of 16x8 IFS Toyota rims for about $150, if you've got a set of rigid axle rims in mind we could swap??

Really, if you've got an IFS Cruiser wagon chase the correct rims as they are a bleep load cheaper on the second hand market than the rigid axle wagon 16x8 rims!!

Geoff,

I was looking at a set of 5 steel rims on ebay, it finishes in a couple of days. They are currently being won with a bid of $56.00 each.

I haven't replaced the Triton as yet, the 100 Series Standard Dual Cab that I looked at yesterday had a few to many issues for it's age, i.e. 05 model no log books, major panel repair to drivers side, interior was very badly scratched. The wiring had loose wires every where behind the rear seat.

So the search continues.

Thanks for the clarification on the rims

Cheers Kev,

P.S I checked an Ex Ambo Troopy at Mainheim Fowles yesterday afternoon. It had the factory TD, ARB bullbar with winch, Stratos seats, driving lights, 3rd door cut in and with 27500km on the clock for $40160.
But it had 6 large holes in the roof that were filled with silicon.

Looked good though

Hi Kev,
I think $56 each for IFS rims is expensive! I can get a set of four locally for $160 without haggling. I know they'd come down as they've been advertised for months. I went and looked at the set because they couldn't tell me over the phone which axle they fitted.
They even have tyres on them. Two are throw aways and the other two may be barely legal so really it's $160 for the 4 rims but a lot less than $56 each!
There's a real glut on IFS rims, just need to be patient and you'll pick them up at a fair price. Some of the tyre joints are asking $150 each for these IFS rims. "Tell em' they're dreamin"

Rigid front end rims are a different story, they are going for the price of your first born and that in my opinion is extravagant. I bought a set of 4 Toyota RFS Mags with tyres at about 50% off Ebay the other week to put on my Troopy. Paid $960 for the lot and was well pleased. (The tyres are the stock factory Dunlops)
I also bought 2 RFS 16x8 steal rims off Ebay recently for $105 the pair. In my opinion about $50 to $60 each for RFS 16x8 steal rims is good for both parties.

The Troopy sounds good, bit of welding and painting at the local panel beater would make the holes brand new! Factory TD is a sweet engine, I've owned a couple of 2H diesel Landcruisers and a 1HZ engined wagon. The Troopy I have now with the factory TD is amazing!

Sounds like I've been pinching rims! It's "steel" not "steal"

Sheesh, where's that edit button?

Geoff,

The rims I'm looking at on E Bay are the RFS steel ones without tyres that are $56.00 each ATM

Hi Kev,
If it's this set you are looking at, Rims they are off an IFS Landcruiser.
Dead easy to tell just by looking at them.

This rim, Rim is off a Rigid Front end Landcruiser.

The giveaway is this, note in this picture of an IFS rim the centre of the rim has a shallow dish and is almost flush with the outside of the rims tyre mounting surface. (Circled in red)

In this photo of an Rigid Front end rim the dish is much greater and the centre is set back from the rims tyre mounting surface. (Again circled in red)

Hope this helps,

Hi Kev,
That's the exact Ebay link I posted in my response. They are IFS rims, that'd be why they are 1 day 21 hours to go and only $56 each.

Hard to see here but I've nicked the blokes own picture and highlighted the holes in the rim face. They exactly match the IFS rim in my previous response. They don't match at all the holes in the Rigid Front End rim in my previous post.
If you look carfully at that Ebay link of yours you'll notice the position of the valve stem hole in the second rim in the right hand stack, it's below the face of the rim as per my previous IFS picture.

That bloke is telling porkies in his response to questions,

All the pictures I've linked too have been lifted off Ebay this evening.

And compare them to the circled area on this one,

Hope it all makes sense,

Hey Kev,
Glad I could help.
It's bloody well expensive enough hunting a new vehicle without buying something off Ebay or elswhere that doesn't fit!

Here's my dirty Troopy with the Ebay Alloys, they would have been off a 100 Wagon with either a 4.2 NA Diesel or 6cyl Petrol.

I'm just after another set for the trailer with the extras as spares, so to have them interchangable is high on the list.

Kev,
I'm also looking for three 100 Series Live Axle rims.
One for a trailer spare and a couple for the Troopy.

We'll see what we can come up with,
