O/T but where or who can clean a video camera tape

yep...its a year later and finally figured i should get the 2nd tape to our holiday cleaned ..... i would say that the tape is covered in dust cos it wont play properly but looks good in fast forward....

so.......who would i take it to to get cleaned?? got any idea???

Sounds like the heads in the video player need cleaning - not the tape. It's a simple job using iso-propol alcohol. Ask around locally, I am sure some one will help you. Just make sure they use a soft clothe with no loose threads and move it gently around the drum, not up and down.

its not on a tape (or dvd) yet its still on the video camera one....the first tape works fine its just the second one.

Sounds like it might have been recorded in LP and you might be trying to play it back in SP. Have you considered that!

its still on the video camera tape....it just records - doesnt give a choice of sp or lp.
