Can anyone provide me with the pros and cons on installing some kind of performance chip on my new Common Rail 3 Litre Turbo Patrol. What is best brand to install and what kind of improvement could I expect in KW and Torque

marq is kind of full of carp

A chip will give u noticeably more power and shouldnt reduce the life of the engine

A D-Tronic will give u 134kw and 420nM against 116 and 354 standard, Tunit can be tuned to go better than that if u want to, also to match whaever else u have done i.e. exhaust / turbo mods etc can be tailored to the units programming for optimum performance.

Take a look online all the figures can be found there

Hi Colinf

I installed a Steinbuaer chip in my Patrol about 6 months ago.

My 3.0ltr is the old design, not common rail.

I have a 5 speed manual, which really improved the torque at low revs, and turbo lag has almost disappeared.

I know do not kangaroo hop in low range going up 4x4 tracks

If you drive an auto, I would assume the difference would not be as noticable.

Please feel free to ask any specific questions you might have.
