morning all ...
well still having filter blocking problems..am having to change it out every 3/4000...sometimes only 1500....now ive had da carby rebuilt :all da detuning crud removed...new
tank and flushed the lines....now have noticed..the only filter recommended is a injected one....i know fuel pumps for these are hi volume..so the filter will be alot finer....now i think with that filter and my old carby pump...when i get a little bit of shyt in their it just cant push enough juice through......:just looses power..and slows right down.....aaaaahhhhh asked at stores ..they grab the book and say only 1 for da job....k rap me thinks....back in my v8 days we used to have glass ones you could clean easily......and i think not as fine ....can you still get them ???or anyone got any ideas on how to get around this ....as its a pain an da asss.always when im on a job or have no time ....(always then))lol
Cheers Bundy

Hey mate,
You talking about the cav inline filters with glass bowl? We could fit something like that to da truck. But seriously if you want to fix the problem,(wait for it!!!) sell it and by a cruiser. Then feel the power.

Bundy,
I think you could be after a Lucas CAV filter. It replaces your old filter and has a glass bowl on the bottom so you can see all of the crud etc.
There are two styles now and they cost between $135 - $160 depending on which one you want. The filter cartridges cost between $4 - $6 each depending on where you get them from. They simply screw on in place of your old factory filter.
I have had one in my turbo diesel for about 5 years now and haven't had any problems with it. I am also running biodeisel so a bit of crud still comes up from the tanks and fuel lines so I chnage filters about every 10 000 km (when I do my oil) and takes about 5 minutes to do it.

Bundy.
You don't say where the dirt is coming from, I had a vehicle like that and it turned out to have a split in the filler hose just in front off the rear wheel. worth having a good at the complete system and then stick with the factory filter. Eric.
