The best thing to do with a cigarette lighter plug/socket is to destroy it with a large hammer :)

Your fridge probably has an internal fuse but it would be wise to use an in-line fuse between it and the battery this kind of thing:

will do the trick - put a 10 amp fuse into it.

Mike - when pasting product links from the Jaycar website you can delete "&CATID=23&keywords . . . . . " and it still works perfectly.

Ok , thing is that got it running thru the black box called a Mobitronics for the db50 motor in the Waeco , not too many people actually read the paperwork fully , your Mobitronics unit does NOT supply 12v when u have it plugged into 240v mains /gen ,,,, it supplies 24v to your Waeco 80lt, with the db50 99.9% of problems with Waeco is voltage loss ,thru lack of wire size and or volts , , you want to "hard wire " to your aux batt , your fridge will love it , just put a 30amp self reset circuit breaker inline close to the batt and use a min of 6mmsq wire pos and neg , NOT 6mm total but 6mm sq of wirestrand per.

Hi Mate,
The best advice I can give you is to grab your mobitronics unit by the cord at the plug end and swing it around ya head at least 6 times whilestanding on the wharf, and let go at the right time while teaching it to swim.
Then get on the blower to jaycar and get a 12 amp 3 stage charger and hard wire that into the system at the same time as hard wiring your fridge for peak performance.
Forget the ciggy plugs.
Email me if you are still in trouble, as I will be inspecting the job next visit!!! LOL

Cheers pesty
