My Daughter has put in an order for the Mitsubishi Triton Dual Cab with V6 petrol motor and Auto Transmission.
She chose the petrol over Diesel because as I explained to her if she don't a lot of Kilometers I couldn't see the benefit
plus the petrol motor will be easier for servicing and maintenance, She chose the Triton over Hilux because both if us thought it was better value,
with better Warranty, I would be interested to read any comments about the Triton ,

Doug, Doug,
It is a Mitsubishi! Why worry. :o)
They don't have 3l diesels that go bang, or rear diffs that don't limit slip. (Rear diff is similar to Nissan design.)
I have had three Mitsubishi cars over the last 27 years without any major problems. Been looking at the new triton too.

Doug,
I love
mine although I'm about to upgrade to a 100 series dual cab as soon as I find one that I can afford.
I have the 3.0l V6 manual and it does about 14L/100km for city driving and that is with all the accessories on. I wouldn't change it for a Hilux or Navara.
Cheers Kev

They doing a diesel in auto yet? Counted me out when I was looking for a dual cab.
Tray size didn`t help either or the looks. The interior does like trick but.
I was surprized by the top of the range price to, nearly as dear as the Hilux n I know which one will have better resale.
Other than that they seem like a good thing as all the new dual cabs do.

Auto diesel is out this month, Triton is selling really
well and the auto will only increase sales. The VR model seems to be the pick of the bunch at the moment.

Just quit my 1999 Triton. Only issue I can recall was a flutter in the steering wheel at 100kph, which no-one could diagnose. It was a good workhorse and took us on several great trips (Rudall River,
Steep Point ). I have a
well-liner, if your daughter needs one, but the dimensions may be different on the new model.

limited slip diff is more useful than diff lock for majority of people.
We have the 3.2L diesel and is a great vehicle and tows better than any of the other 3L diesels. Mates with similar size trailers cannot keep up the hills with the Triton. Probably the best 1 ton ute presently in the market.
Hilux 3L is not a patch on the Triton and 6k more for a Thailand made vehicle. Toyota want Japanese price for Thailand made vehicle. Toyota dont like to tell you the Hilux is fully made in Thailand.
