Can anyone recommend a nice caravan
park to stay in
Busselton (WA) first week in December. Anyone know if schoolies are boisterous at this time?

Stayed at the Beachlands Holiday
Park Busselton (big 4) in 2002. Found the proprietor at the time a bit overbearing, but otherwise no worries. JD

We stayed at Beachlands Caravan
Park for
easter this year, one of the best parks we have stayed at. Friendly staff, not to big, close to most things, clean and tidy. The amenities are old but clean and
well looked after. Our kids loved the playground.
Highly recommended IMO.
Charlie.

We stayed at this caravan
park in Mary 2005 on our travells. A great
camping site, Wasnt school holidays and we camped on the line behind the trees.,small walk to
the beach, like 2 carvans length of vans and on beach.. In fact I use the sun sent as my screen saver on my computer. Great place. They did tell me was crowded and booked out all school holidays so dont know how you will go.

Kookaburra Caravan
Park 9752 1516
Is situated near the end of the main street near
the beach and you can walk to town, the Jetty and main beach with-in minutes.
Is the Council run Caravan
Park and has a campers kitchen and is the least expensive of all the Parks in Busso.
Plenty of shade and a campers kitchen with an independently run grocery
shop across the road if you run outa milk and a bottle
shop just as close in the opposite direction if she forgets your drinks ..
As to "schoolies" being boisterous... when are they not, if they are away from mumy and daddy, they will be boisterous and put it bluntly outa control, however they are more likely to be staying down in
Dunsborough than Busso though.

If you are looking for something a little better to stay at try the Peppermint
Park EcoVillage. We stayed there when using the voucher we got when we purchased our new Camper Trailer. Facilities were great, best and cleanest ablution blocks I have ever stayed at. Its a little away from the other parks so probably more chance of not clashing with the schoolies.
A link is

And it is also a Big 4 Caravan
Park if you are a member.

neilscott, the pick of the parks for facillities and cleanliness etc is Mandalay Caravan
Park. It is the most expensive but gets a regular repeat trade so people must think it is worth it.It is located right on
the beach about 2 kms from town. It doesnt have anything to do with schoolies so that wont be a problem. Kookaburra CP is more of your old fashioned council owned
park. Very conveinient to town and the jetty (walking distance). Nice atmosphere
camping amongst the peppie trees. As others have said Beachlands is also one of the main parks. He decided one year to cater for schoolies and had (and caused) plenty of problems. I am not sure of their policy this year.
In general the schoolies arent a problem unless you are loitering around the pubs late at night especially in dunsboruogh. Hope this info helps. The tourist bureau is also very helpful although reluctant at times to "recommend" any particular business.
