Hi, I am new to this site and am considering selling up and doing the big 'lap' around our wonderful country. I have two boys aged 5 and 7 and would love to hear from people who have recently educated their children while travelling to offer me some advice.
Thank you

Check out the following websites of families travelling around oz.
Send them an email, they have given us great advice.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that Richo. Both of those sites have been great reading and providied a wealth of information. Neither were much help with the education side of it though because both families had children under school age.
So any other help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again

Hi Bundy, mate if you approach your school and tell them what your doing and for how long they will start you off with paper work for the kids to do ...I just asked my wife and she agreed also contact the education dept and ask about the curriculum and they will explain all that is needed to home school your kids , mate at this age you wont regret what your doing as they will get an education on the road that will stick in their tiny heads for ever and you might even see them do the same when they have their kids LOL!
well I know that we are trying to set ourselves up to travel for a year or so but lucky my wife is a teacher so she can teach maths and English and I will teach FISHING!!!!
Good Luck and enjoy this big piece of dirt !!
Regards J.B.

Thanks heaps for that Johnny. It is a big decision to make but everyone I speak to say "Just do it!". I agree that it would be a great experience for the boys and hopefully their teachers will feel the same!!!! We are still only in the 'talking about it' stage, but no doubt there is a lot of preparation to go into making this happen.
Thanks again.....
